I was born in Hertford, England on November 30th 1958. Both my parents were musicians teaching the piano and violin in their home in Broxbourne during the 1960s. Although I initially played piano I was inspired to play the guitar by watching The Rolling Stones on TV and, at the age of twelve, formed my first band.
I spent much of the summer of 1976 at Pink Floyd's Britannia Row recording studio at the invitation of legendary recording engineer Brian Humphries. I learnt about the recording process as well as guitar playing advice from David Gilmour.
In 1977 I began a five year tenure working for The Bron Organisation as a recording engineer at Roundhouse Recording Studios. I was directly involved in many top projects working with many artists including AC/DC, Motörhead, Uriah Heep, Cliff Richard and The Real Thing.
In 1982 I moved to the east coast of Spain eventually forming power trio The Rockets with ex Wings drummer Geoff Britton and Stretch bassist Steve Emery and later Greg Ridley from Humble Pie. During my time in Spain I played in a number of successful bands as well as a session guitarist for Warner Bros and other high profile companies.
In 2015 I started teaching at the Javea Rock Academy in Spain, and, after relocating to England in 2017 now bring a lifetime of musical experience to students at The Music Spot in Lancaster and online.
